Saturday Project: Tote Bags

I always seem to need a new tote bag. For taking things to the beach or pool, to carrying around home school books for doing school at the park, to grocery shopping, there seems to be no end to my use of tote bags. I also have an abundance of old jeans and other fabric items that have worn out to the point of not being patchable or worth donating so I am going on a tote bag making spree.

TipNut has tons of great patterns for tote bags that are FREE. My inspiration piece came from Crafty Recycling. I can’t wait to try some of these over the next few weeks before we start school!

  1. I’m getting ready to make some *jeans* projects in the next couple of weeks, so I LOVE this idea! I’ll bookmark your post and link back to it when I blog my creations. Thank you! 🙂

  3. This is a great idea!!!! I have a lot of jeans to repurpose……I guess it’s time to dust off the sewing machine.

    • Unfortunately I do not have the plans and the site the idea came from (years ago) is no long up. Sorry!

      • Thank you for posting back. If you come across plans that would be comparable, would you please reach out to me?

      • If I ever find these plans I will definitely post! A lot of people wish the original plans were still around!

      • Unfortunately the original poster of these instructions took the site down and I do not have a copy of the instructions.

    • This was done many years ago and I no longer even have the bag to be able to look at it. I’m sorry.

    • I do not have the pattern for this. The site this was from closed several years ago, so there is not a pattern.

    • I don’t think there ever was a video for this. This was posted several years ago and the site that had the plans no longer exists.

    • An in the previous comments, the site that posts this originally (my post is from 2012) is no longer available, so unfortunately I do not have a tutorial.
