Here is the grocery list for this week’s menus: 3/19 Grocery list
Monday: Grilled chicken salad – Serve your favorite salad topped with grilled chicken. I make a lot because people really eat this meal at our house!
Tuesday: Chicken noodle soup – Put shredded chicken from one you used to make stock or a few pieces of boneless chicken in the slow cooker with veggies (carrots, celery etc). Season with garlic, onion, oregano (whatever you like). Cover with stock and cook on low all day. Before serving cook egg noodles or other pasta according to package directions. Serve noodles with the soup.
Wednesday: on Wednesdays we are now attending a dinner held at our church each week but I will still offer suggestions. Pork chops with rice and veggies. Marinate pork chops in italian dressing. Saute in a skillet. Steam broccoli, cauliflower, carrots or other veggies and serve with the pork chops over rice.
Thursday: Happy Birthday to Firstborn! She picked the menu for today. Her choice pinwheels and chocolate cream pie. Mix 2-4 ounces of cream cheese with italian dressing to make a spread. Cover fajita shells with the dressing and fill with your favorite sandwich items (turkey, bacon, provolone, and lettuce at our house). Roll tightly. Slice into 1 inch sections (making pinwheels). For the pie, melt 1/2 cup of butter. Crush 1 package of Oreo style cookies. Mix cookies with melted butter and form into a pie crust. Make chocolate pudding and fill the cookie crust. Let is set and top with whipped cream.
Friday: Beef Stroganoff. Saute stew meat. Deglaze pan with stock and Worcestershire sauce. Add meat and deglazing liquid to slow cooker. Add chopped mushrooms. Cover with 2 cups of stock. Cook on high for 4 hours. Add 2 cans cream of mushroom soup and cook on low for 2 hours. Serve over noodles with a salad.
